We specialize in Poodle Crosses because we believe they make wonderful pets. They’re non-shedding and their offspring are healthier. These poodle mixed breeds are very intelligent, making them easy to train.

Thank Goodness It’s Spring!

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all doing well and staying safe, and sane as we all try to navigate through another lockdown.   I know many of you remain scared, frustrated, and anxious.    We are all in this together, so stay positive my friends and we can all celebrate life once we are able.

Things continue to be crazy in the Dog World.   Actually it’s out of control.  It is quite disturbing to me  how many innocent people including our kids, are in need of a pet to help with their anxiety and to keep them sane, through these unprecedented times.    I receive call after call and it hurts my heart to know that people are desperate and being taken advantage of.

As a dog breeder with 20 years breeding, I am ashamed of how some of the breeders, and the want-to-be-breeders, are still taking advantage of this very horrible time in our lives.

Costs for puppies continue to rise and if this keeps up the average person will not be able to afford a dog.  Like any business there are yearly increases to cover expenses but my goodness this is sheer greed. What is happening to humanity!

I continue to look at some of the Facebook Groups out there for puppy support/advice and it horrifies me that there are so many people who have no idea what is expected of them as a puppy parent and need puppy education.    I do not let anyone leave my facility with a puppy without being educated by me first.  It just doesn’t happen.

This has lead me to produce an Ebook that will be available to anyone who needs some guidance through the Puppy Transition Stage.  I want to help as many people as possible so that the puppies have a better chance of staying in forever homes and living a great structured life.

I just put out a survey this week on Facebook, which is A & R Country Kennel, Dog Breeder, Puppy Transition Coach,  and my Facebook Group page, to gather information.   I want to see what new puppy owners are struggling with.    The survey has over 100 applicants already.  This tells me people are needing some guidance.  I need to gather the information so I can start to offer specific group Coaching, via zoom or in person group sessions once we are able.

Education is so very important and the beginning stages is a critical time.  We imprint wether it’s good or bad behaviour and I want to be sure you are teaching good behaviours.    Stay tuned for more informant on Facebook, or send me an email if you want and need some assistance immediately and we can set up a coaching call or I can provide you with the Ebook.    My email – amy@arcountrykennel.com

This is open to anyone, so please pass along this information if you have family members or friends that could benefit.    My Mission is to educate as many people with Puppy Education so that we can reduce the amount of dogs being surrendered to shelters due to lack of knowledge.

Stay safe my friends and enjoy the beautiful Spring sunshine and get outside to breath in some new energy and rid of the old!   Until next time!

Amy
