MY MISSION!
To prevent helpless dogs from being surrendered to Shelters only to be killed! Over 1.5 million dogs are surrendered to Shelters every year. A high percent of them are euthanized within 48-72 hours. There is nothing more heartbreaking for me as a dog breeder to read.
To educate people about puppies prior to getting one so they can make an educated decision when choosing a puppy so that they end up in Forever Homes and not in Shelters within a year because your decision was impulsive, you chose the wrong breed of dog and/or you did not have the knowledge needed to care for a puppy properly.
To educate as many people as possible about what is expected of them as an owner and what to expect from a puppy. To help and guide you in making a decision based on knowledge. But more importantly the type of dog that is ideal for your family and the environment you live in. This is where most people go wrong. They get a puppy and have no idea what its adult size, exercise required, and the training required. These are the dogs that will not be socialized properly, or at all, and will have behaviour issues that land then in a shelter.
EDUCATION = PREVENTION
As a breeder my main goals are to produce happy, social and healthy puppies. Placing my puppies into forever homes is my biggest success!
Over the last 18 years I have done this quite successfully. I have placed many puppies into forever homes. It has been very rewarding and successful because I am very passionate and care a great deal about my puppies. I take the time to educate my customers before they get their puppy. The transition period is less stressful on both humans and puppies, which makes me very happy.
I give the customer’s the knowledge they need to deal with a puppy by telling them what to expect and what is expected of a new owner etc.
I have heard it over and over again for the last 18 years, “I wish I had this information when…” meaning the education I provided to them. Almost, no one had been educated by the person/breeder they purchased previous puppies from.
Knowing how important this knowledge is for the wellbeing of a puppy’s future, I want to provide this knowledge to as many people as possible. If I can save one dog or hundreds of dogs from being sent to a shelter due to the lack of knowledge by the owner, then my mission will be successful.
How many dogs do you know that are left in a yard, that barks all day and night long? I bet lots, these are all dogs that have owners who did not have any knowledge about what was expected of them as an owner, if they did the dogs would be part of their families. It’s very sad but these are the dogs that will eventually be sent to the shelter.
Or the dogs that never gets out to walk or play with other dogs because they do not know how to play or be in a pack situation safely. Why? Because they were not properly socialized as a puppy.
The biggest reasons why dogs end up in shelters – behaviour problems – biting, anxiety issues, and destructive. The worst is the “Unsocialized Dogs, as they are Dangerous” and who’s fault is that? The owners who were uneducated, that’s who. The behaviour issues stem from not being socialized as a puppy and not taught any house rules. All of which are easily preventable if they had the knowledge before getting the puppy. EDUCATION IS KEY = PREVENTION.
It takes a lot of time and effort to retrain unsocialized dogs. It can be done, but it does take a lot of time and patience to be successful. There seems to be a shortage of people in the shelters that have this kind of time to train a dog to be a safe family pet. Which results in many of the dogs in shelters being euthanized.
Let me help and guide you by giving you the knowledge you need to make the right decision for you, your family and your lifestyle. So I can help place all puppies in Forever Homes. This is not just for my customers, this will be for anyone, all over the Country. So please be sure to share this with all your friends and family.
It will make such an incredible difference in your experience with your puppy if you know what is expected of you as an owner, and what to expect from a puppy.
